I believe that fitness is not just about losing weight and looking 'good'. Fitness can be used as a way of supporting health and wellbeing, both physically and mentally. It can offer a great opportunity to develop friendships and be part of a community too.
I am not your typical personal trainer. I have been in a larger body myself, so I understand the unique challenges that can come as part of this. My empathetic approach enables clients to feel comfortable when training and helps them to develop confidence in themselves.
I coach at Point Blank Gym, Cambridge and online.

There are 168 hours within a week. Online coaching focuses on the impact that you can have throughout every single one of those hours. It gives you the ownership of your journey and equips you with the skills to make long lasting change in a way that is suited to you.
One of the many benefits of online coaching is that it can be done from anywhere - you don’t have to meet me face to face in my gym. You can make great progress from wherever you feel most comfortable.
It includes daily habits (including workouts, steps, nutrition and mindset), a weekly written check in, a monthly video call and ongoing WhatsApp support to ensure that you are able to make the best progress possible.
Being in a bigger body has a range of unique challenges, particularly when working on your health and fitness. A bigger body moves differently to a smaller body, having extra weight places additional stressors on the body physiologically and the mental and emotional impact of being in a bigger body can have a big effect. But, often coaches haven’t experienced this themselves and don’t know how to take it into account.
That’s where working with myself, a bigger body specialist, is different. I’ve been in a bigger body myself so understand the best ways to adapt exercises so that they are suitable for your changing body. I also understand the impact of your mindset on this journey and will support you to overcome these unique challenges.
Every Sunday, you will fill in a ‘check in’, which is a series of questions designed to help you reflect on what’s going well so far, what needs a little attention and empowering you to take ownership over the process. I will provide written feedback on this which will help you to become crystal clear about how to continue making amazing progress.
You’re also able to message me via WhatsApp in between check ins if you need extra support or have any questions.
Absolutely! Nutritional guidance and workouts can be adapted to your unique circumstances. If you’re pregnant, injured or just super nervous, then I’ll create a plan that is suited to you.
100% it’s suitable for beginners and more confident exercisers alike. The workouts will be tailored to move you from where you are right now towards where you want to be and will take into account your experience and fitness levels. You will be supported to move in a way that is right for you.
You don’t NEED anything. If you want to train in a gym, great! If you want to train at home and have no equipment, also great! There’s ways of making progress with whatever space or equipment you have access to.
Online coaching is £200 per month.
There is an initial three month commitment, which allows long enough to make some consistent changes and see some significant progress.
After this, you would need to provide one month’s notice to finish coaching.

I’ll only take you on if I can help and will refer you elsewhere if not.
Great first session. Gemma showed me all the techniques and movements and made sure I had them right before adding in weights. She spent time trying to find the right weights for me for each exercise, making sure they were just enough to be challenging, but not too much that I wouldn't be able to complete the sets. She even on the spot adapted the plan, s my 9 year old was trying to join in, and gave him some exercises to follow. She was really lovely and very encouraging. I look forward to future sessions!
Gemma made me feel instantly comfortable. She knows what she is doing and pushes you to do your best.
Gemma is an inspirational PT. Gently encouraging, she has pushed me further than I thought I could go in my first few sessions. Every session is hard work but fun. Loving it!
Today I had my first session with Gemma. I worked with a PT during covid but had lost my mojo. But with Gemma's guidance today I realised that I hadn't lost the knowledge.
I was very nervous but Gemma put me at my ease. As soon as she realised what I was capable of, she pushed me that bit more and I was so pleased she did. My lack of confidence meant I had no chance of going to a gym, but Gemma brings everything to you.
I have found that I still love lifting weights and can't wait for the next session.
I have just started training with Gemma and could not be happier. To put into context - I am menopausal and in the last 20 years or so have done little or no 'fitness'. I started this very anxious regarding what I could do and anyone seeing me (including the dog and cat...don't ask!!!)
Gemma immediately put me at ease and gently encouraged me, not letting me give up. Whilst I can't say I like working out, I no longer hate it and have carried on longer than anything previously. This is due to Gemma - she doesn't judge and I don't feel quite so paranoid any more. I have a long way to go but I have no doubt I can get there with Gemma.
Gemma is a great coach and motivator. She is pushing you to reach your potential, but not over pushing you. I think it's a very important balance to keep getting the best results. What motivates me is a good word of encouragement and that's what Gemma does.
For about a year now, since having my baby, I haven't really moved much. I got to the point when going up the stairs would be a struggle. One day I thought to myself that it's time to start working out again. Unfortunately, my will power is weak, especially when it comes to leaving the house to go to the gym, so having a personal trainer to come to my house was a perfect solution for me. Once I start the session, I give 100% of myself to it.
I need to say, I began to see results very quickly. Running up and down the stairs has become the easiest thing. I can now go for a one hour walk without feeling that my heart will jump out of my chest. I can play with my boy and not feel tired. I feel strong and fit. Once a healthy diet will follow, I'm sure I will start seeing a smaller waist as well, but that's my own mental battle against chocolates which I need to fight.
Overall, Gemma has been amazing, very professional and great at adjusting my training to my abilities while motivating me to keep pushing my limits. I would recommend Gemma to everyone who wants to get fitter and feel better about themselves.
